Hunt Companies Names Chris Hunt President, Chief Operating Officer

Chief Operating Officer Mike Hunt named Vice Chair of Board of Directors; Ryan Luxon named President of Hunt Development Group

El Paso, Texas — November 6, 2013 — Hunt Companies, Inc. today announced the appointment of Chris Hunt as President and Chief Operating Officer.

Chris Hunt, a 20-year veteran of Hunt Companies, will succeed Mike Hunt, who held the position of President and Chief Operating Officer since 1987. Chris Hunt will retain his position as the Company’s Chief Investment Officer. Mike Hunt will serve in a new role as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors while retaining his position as President and CEO of Hunt’s construction services division - Hunt Building Company Ltd.

“Over the course of his time with Hunt, Chris has contributed significantly to the success of the business particularly in achieving the substantial growth Hunt has seen over the last 10 years,” said Woody Hunt, Hunt Companies Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “He has provided the leadership for the continued transformation of the company from a primarily military contractor to today’s position as a diversified real estate business.”

Mike Hunt joined the Company in 1971 as a field engineer. During his tenure, he has held the positions of office engineer, estimator, superintendent, project manager, and developer. Since 1984, Mike Hunt has lead the construction and contract services operations of the company.

“Mike has done a terrific job in managing our growth strategy, leading our team to new levels of operating efficiency, and delivering value to our customers,” Woody Hunt said. “We’re all very grateful for the excellent work Mike has done for the company, and we’re confident Chris will continue the high standard that Mike has set.”

Hunt also announced that Ryan Luxon will succeed Chris Hunt as President of Hunt Development Group, LLC. Ryan has served as an Executive Vice President and Executive Director at Hunt for the last five years. He will continue to act as President and Chief Investment Officer of Hunt Investment Management, LLC, a SEC-Registered Investment Advisor, and as a member of the Board of Directors for Hunt’s affiliate, LEDIC Management Group, LLC.

“In this new role, Ryan will continue to align and integrate our development, investment and management capabilities,” said Chris Hunt.

In recent years, Hunt Companies has strengthened its governance and succession planning while experiencing company-wide growth and diversification. In 2012, Hunt added five external directors to maintain long-term organizational sustainability, and named Clay Parker as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in August 2013.
